Все мы треть нашей жизни проводим во сне и соответственно сон – важная часть жизни. И было бы странно, если в речи люди не использовали выражения о сне, так как мы много об этом говорим. Этот урок посвящен именно идиомам и выражениям английского языка, которые каким-то образом связаны со сном.
Крепкий сон.
В начале урока мы будет говорить о хорошем и крепком сне.
Be out like a light – выражение означает быстро засыпать (буквальный перевод – «выключиться как свет»)
I’m so tired today that I think I will be out like a light.
(Я так устал сегодня, что думаю мигом засну)
To sleep like a log – спать очень крепко (буквальный перевод – «спать как бревно»)
My daughter sleeps like a log. I think she will sleep even when a bomb explodes next to her.
(Моя дачка очень крепко спит. Я думаю, что она будет спать, даже когда рядом с ней взорвется бомба)
To sleep like a baby – также означает спать очень крепко (буквальный перевод – «спать как младенец») Выражение немного странное, так как малыши обычно не очень хорошо спят по ночам.

To sleep in – спать дольше обычного (обычно во время выходных).
Finally I can sleep in tomorrow.
(Наконец я cмогу поспать завтра)
To sleep over/to stay the night – переночевать у кого-то дома, «sleep over» означает остановиться на несколько дней у кого-то, а «to stay the night» — на одну ночь.
I called my mom to warn I will stay the night at my friend’s.
(Я позвонила и предупредила маму, что переночую у друга)
To hit the sack/hay – это разговорный вариант слова «sleep» (спать)

Get some shut-eye – еще одно разговорное выражение означающее «sleep» (спать).

«Как научить ребенка говорить по-английски»
Урок 1
Ложимся спать по-английски
Предлагаем начать с ситуации «ложимся спать». В это время маме и малышу обычно никто не мешает, да и последняя перед сном информация, по мнению психологов, усваивается лучше всего (как, кстати, и первая после пробуждения).
Вам в помощь предлагается небольшой словарик, содержащий слова и выражения для этой ситуации. Этого достаточно на первое время, но не ограничивайтесь использованием только этой лексики, добавляйте всё, что вы знаете, слышали, всё, что вам удастся найти.
Урок рассчитан примерно на 2-3 недели, за это время ребенок привыкает к звучанию английской речи, и Вы начинаете чувствовать себя более-менее свободно, общаясь с малышом по-английски. На протяжении этого времени старайтесь укладывать ребенка спать только по-английски, не переходя (полностью) на русский язык. Через 2-3 недели (а возможно, Вам потребуется больше времени) можно чередовать в данной ситуации английский и русский языки.
Тогда же можно приступать к уроку 2 «Купаемся по-английски».
