Душевые шланги из металла наиболее привычный вариант защиты трубки от перегибов. Изделия имеют спиралевидную форму и выполнены из нержавейки или медных сплавов. Внешняя часть хромированная. Стоят такие изделия недорого, но через некоторое время обмотка начинает слоиться и раскручиваться. В местах изгиба шланга возникают протечки и при этом повреждается внутренняя часть трубки.

Душевые шланги из пластика выполнены в двух вариантах. Первый вариант изготовлен полностью из пластика, второй — внутренняя часть из резины, а внешняя из пластика. Преимуществами данного изделия являются: устойчивость к коррозии, повышенная гибкость, легкое очищение, максимальная температура +80 градусов Цельсия. К недостаткам: из-за состава воды шланг может пожелтеть и треснуть или пересохнуть в местах скручивания.
Пластиковые шланги для душа могут быть: прозрачные, цветные, хромированные и с усиленной металлической проволокой. Последний вариант имеет повышенную устойчивость к микротрещинам.
Шланги для душа с силиконовым покрытием считаются самыми надежными. Силиконовое напыление наноситься чаще всего на металлическую обмотку, за счет этого такие шланги реже протекают. За такими изделиями легче ухаживать. К недостаткам можно отнести большой вес и высокую стоимость.
